Easter is always fun for those of us with a sweet tooth, but why not prepare a tasty savoury treat instead?
All you need is some pitta bread to use as egg shaped pizza bases. Then you can get super creative with toppings to decorate your Easter Egg Pizza. Your child will love creating patterns, experimenting with flavours, and helping you out in the kitchen.
Why not get everyone in the household to make their very own Easter Egg Pizza and have an Easter Pizza Party? It’s a fun (and tasty!) way to celebrate the holidays. For the time the pizza is in the oven you can create some cute Easter decorations for the house or garden. Check out our Easter egg bauble craft page and increase the Easter mood even more.
Makes up to 6 pizzas.
1 Place the pitta breads on a baking tray. Using the back of a dessert spoon cover the tops with tomato puree.
2 Next add a thin layer of cheese.
3 Then use the various toppings to create an Easter egg pattern (this works best if you use the same type of ingredient per row). Ingredients such as pepperoni can be cut into shapes with mini cookie cutters and scissors if you want to get really creative!
4 Bake the pizzas in a preheated oven on 180℃/350℉ for 4-5 minutes. Once baked, allow to cool for a couple of minutes and serve.
Bon appetit!
