CARE FOR KIDS SCHOOL HOLIDAY CHARITY APPEAL | IN AID OF BARNARDO’S
toucanBox is proud to announce our partnership with the UK’s largest children’s charity, Barnardo’s. The Barnardo's mission is to “transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people and create a world where no child is excluded or turned away from the help they need”. We hope that through working with Barnardo’s we can deliver even more toucanBoxes to even more children in need.
Supporting Children through the School Holidays With Barnardo’s
We have decided to introduce a Care For Kids appeal for every half term holiday in the school year (including the summer and Christmas holidays). As with school meals, many children miss out on engaging activities during the school holidays. Through these regular donations we hope to ensure that as many children as possible have something educational and fun to do throughout their time away from school.
Research attests that "School holidays can be stressful periods for children from low-income families. Poor provision of appropriate childcare, limited access to enrichment activities, and food insecurity mean that children’s health and well-being can suffer and their learning stagnate or decline. "
We want to change that and give vulnerable children the opportunity to learn through play and have fun outside the classroom during the holidays. We know how much a toucanBox could benefit these children and can’t wait to start sending out donations.
How To Donate
The way you donate is changing!
Customers with pre-existing rolling subscriptions can now automatically donate a box when they switch to a prepaid subscription! Meaning customers not only make a great saving on their toucanBox, but they also help a child in need!
New customers can donate a box simply by signing up! So if you’re new to toucanBox subscribe now and we’ll donate a box on your behalf…
There is also the option to donate a box at any point throughout the year by visiting our shop. Your donation (and our donation which matches it) will be sent at the start of the next closest school holiday.
In addition to our work with Barnardo’s we continue to donate to smaller, local charities such as Miracles London and the Met Police. If your local charity would like to be considered for toucanBox donations please send an email to [email protected].

What Have We Accomplished So Far?
Since 2018 we have donated over 10,000 toucanBoxes through our Care For Kids program. We consistently work with the Met Police who distribute donations to underprivileged children, as well as donating boxes to children’s hospitals and making frequent donations to local charities throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
The toucanBox mission is simple; to unleash creativity one box at a time. We want all kids to have the opportunity to play, discover and learn, regardless of their circumstances. Our fantastic customers have consistently donated, helping to double up our charitable efforts, and each appeal has been met with exceptional generosity.
